Burning Books
I forgot to mention. Stacy managed to screw me over from, what, 3000km away?
What did she do? She got me a copy of Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow for my birthday.
Having been stuck on the Cluetrain Manifesto for a while I hadn’t been able to get to it. I loved Someone comes to town, Someone leaves town when I read it.
I’d have to say, I liked Down and Out better. Started reading the book at dinner yesterday, where I ended up sitting for about 2.5 hrs before getting up to leave.
After watching, what I think, was The Omen (it’s amusing to try to figure out what the Dutch words are from the translations), I picked the book up at 2am. Put it down at 5. Finished.
So, damn you Stacy. Damn you for keeping me from sleeping from so damn far away.
If you get a chance, read this book. The characterization is great, the wacky techo stuff is really well done. Little references to geeky things that if you don’t know won’t matter, but if you do are quite good.
Anyway, I’m a terrible reviewer. Read the book.

you’re way to hard on yourself - you’re a good reviewer. Just a poor speller, heh. not your fault though. some crazy lady gave you a book that kept you up all night and its weakened you jedi powers. you should be really really nice to her from now on, and give her 1000 dollars the next time you see her. I think that would be adequate punishment.

look at me, using the wrong ‘to’. You married such a hypocrite.

And this is where I’ll take the opportunity to nag your hypocrite of a wife that she *still* hasn’t dropped by, even ‘though having you out of town gives her the opportune moment. Still, it might be nice to see you *both*, for a change. :)

Oh, it’s not her fault. I left her chained in the kitchen baking me apple pies.
We should definately get together. Dinner and drinks, or something. I’ll have my people call your people.
