From 0 to tasty in 5400 seconds….

Categories: Cooking, Life

Stacy made me a pie for my birthday. (It isn’t my birthday yet, but as I previously lamented, she won’t be here for most of that.)

She made the one true type of pie. Lemon Meringue.

Now, I must say I like a good Lemon Meringue pie. But, and this is an earth shattering, birthday distroying, life altering but, it must be lemony enough. How lemony you ask?

Lemony enough to cause a slight curl to your toes when you eat it.

Lemony enough that if you don’t have a beverage on hand while eating it you lose the ability to swallow.

Lemony enough that if you eat 2-3 pieces in one sitting you have an over powering urge to throw up since it’s so bloody lemony.

In my official capacity as Lemon Meringue pie judge, Stacys was pretty close. The birthdays were saved. A small crack appeared in the moon but the earth didn’t shatter. My life was altered, in that I ate two pieces and it probably wasn’t a good waist-line based idea.

Tasty

Categories: Cooking

Since my wife is away partying it up in Seattle I’ve been on my own for food. I’ve been trying to avoid eating out all the time, to the extent of walking home and making myself something for lunch.

I don’t actually mind cooking. Once I’m doing it it’s kind of fun. It’s the, damn it’s going to take me an hour to make this, I’ll just call Pizza Pizza battle that I often lose. Anyway, I decided to get some fish and veggies for dinner the other day. The fish is just the standard pre-marinated stuff from the grocery store. The veggies I thought were pretty tasty. So, without further ado:

  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 1/2 yellow pepper
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • bunch of chopped mushrooms
  • bunch of chopped carrots
  • bunch of onion
  • hot sauce
  • chyanne pepper
  • olive oil

Basically I just threw everything into a frying pan with the oil then dumped on a bunch of chyanne pepper and hot sauce. It ended up with a nice spicy taste, not too hot but hotter hot sauce would fix that up.

Yea, I know, pretty lame, but I thought it was tasty and it wasn’t from Pizza Pizza.

Oh, I managed to get two meals out of the quantities above so it would probably feed two people for dinner.

For the Love of all that is Lemony

Categories: Cooking

Oh, this is just cruel. Making a post on what sounds like a tasty, tasty lemon chicken then leaving the rest of the lemon loving world out in the dark as to what’s in it.

For the love of all that is lemony, let the drooling masses know, what’s in the chicken?
