I must say it was fan … wait for it … wait … wait for it … tastic. It was the right mix of singing, quotes and blood to keep the audience laughing.

If you get a chance, go see this show. It’s just been extended in Toronto until June 14th so get your tickets. Oh, and if you don’t want to get bloody, don’t sit in the first two rows. Some of those people were pretty wet by the end of the show.

The album is pretty good. Only really listened to it once through so far, will need to give it a few more spins but I’m liking it. Wish there was album artwork so it would show up in iTunes nicer.

The one main issue I had was that the order form sucks a nut. Everything is terribly slow, things don’t work quite right, buttons still say pre-order when the album is available. Updating your order appears to do nothing. At least the download was fast.

I like the idea of pay-what-you-want but they could use a lot of work on their implementation. Part of their terms and conditions says they can email you extra stuff. Could suck if they abuse that, would be enough to make me avoid future releases through that company again.

I think everyone I’ve talked to about the new album has said you have to listen to it 5 or 6 times before you start to like it. That could have something to do with it.

On the flip side, sweet god, Jack White is an amazing guitar player. It is worth it to see them in concert just to see him play.

Fucking fantastic.

These things are awsome. I was shaking my head around, enough to throw my glasses across the room and they stayed in. They sound phenomenal. I can turn them up as loud as I want and other people can barely hear them. A real problem with my Sennheisers. The sound is equally great, I can finally listen to Tool loud enough to get all the subtle stuff they stick in there.

So, if you’re looking for new earbuds, check out the Vibe by V-Moda. Highly recommended. (And Gunmetal Black is just a cool colour.)

The second was the Tool concert down at Molson Amphitheater. Adam ended up with a spare ticket that he gave me. Tool was phenominal. They sounded amazing, the lights and stage looked fucking cool.

There must have been 16,000 people there. The place was packed. It started to rain about 2 minutes before Tool took the stage. Rained for about an hour, got fairly hard near then end. Then stopped for about 30 minutes. Started to rain when they came back on for the encore. By the end I was soaked, that and I managed to stumble into a gigantic puddle leaving the venue.

While trying to entice the band on the stage for the encore there must have been 5-10 thousand lighters going. Definately an impressive sight to see.

I think the most amusing part is, they made me gate check my pocket watch. I made sure I left my knife at home, but who whould’a thunk it, a fucking pocket watch. Apparently the chain is considered a risk or something.

With this update, and about three hours of work renaming, fixing and organizing in iTunes, I’ve got pretty much all new albums on my iPod.

It’s strange. I’ve had these discs for months but haven’t really listened to them. Now that I do, their amazing. It’s a relative cornicopia of new music. Not all of it is new music, some is old stuff that I decided to pickup as I’d heard good things.

So, here’s to Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kraftwerk, Amon Tobin, The All American Rejects, Arcade Fire, Over the Rhine and all the other new discs that are on there. Here’s to hours of new music.

They played a selection of songs from their new album and a good range of songs from their older stuff. The audience seemed quite into it, all in all, a blast.

Picked up the next day, and was quite disheartened (after opening it) to realize it was copy protected. I'm going to have to try to rip it onto my linux box or I won't be able to listen too it at all as I don't have a windows machine nor use a stereo. Else, I'm going to have to go and get it off of bittorrent. It really pisses me off when bands fuck with cds and make me resort to finding it on file sharing sites just to listen too it. It's one of the few things a band I like can do to make me stop buying their albums (the same reason I don't buy Perfect Circle albums anymore).

I know it isn't always the bands fault, it maybe the record company, but still, whats the bloody point of alienating your _fans_.
