Speaking of Books
After putting up my last post about Cyptonomicon I ran across 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I can’t say as I’m very impressed with the list, a few things aren’t on there that I’d expect. I’ve read about 31 of the books on that list that I noticed.
So, instead of following someone elses list I’m going to make a couple of my own. Feel free to follow along at home, or in your blog, or in the comments.
Away we go. There are three lists, Currently Reading (only one, not really a list, but who’s getting technical?), Top 10 books you’ve read, Top 10 you want to read (no re-reads). Ordering, at least for me, is random. I also list some trilogies as single book sets.

Dune is one of my favorite books and the best SciFi book i’ve ever read. To be honest it is the only SciFi book i’ve ever read, but nevertheless it’s really good.

I’ve read 5 of your top 10 (LOTR, Ender’s Game, Sandman, Fight Club, Midsummers night’s dream) and have Microserfs (mainly, because I REALLY enjoyed J-pod) sitting on my to read pile.
I’m currently reading Neuromancer. Something I’ve been wanting to read for ages. (read: probably 15+ years) It’s been slow going though mainly because Harry potter got wedged in while I was midway through and because a lot of the ideas feel dated even though this is where they originated from.

I haven’t read Neuromancer since highschool. I’ve been thinking of giving it a re-read. Would be interesting to see how it stands up to some of the Neal Stephenson books.
J-Pod was a good book. I’d rank Microserfs as better but that could be that I read Microserfs first. Just struck me as being some indefinable better.
